SPEAKING ENGLISH POLICY AS PREREQUISITE FOR THE LEANING OF STUDENTS

For the purposes of this research, in depth interviews were used. In depth interviews are

personal and unstructured interviews, whose aim is to identify participant’s emotions, feelings,

and opinions regarding a particular research subject. The main advantage of personal

interviews is that they involve personal and direct contact between interviewers and interviewees,

as well as eliminate non-response rates, but interviewers need to have developed the

necessary skills to successfully carry an interview (Fisher, 2005, Wilson, 2003).

As far as data collection tools were concerned, the conduction of the research involved the use

of semi-structured questionnaire, which was used as an interview guide for the researcher. Some

certain questions were prepared, so as for the researcher to guide the interview towards the

satisfaction of research objectives, but additional questions were made encountered during the

interviews.

Research Design

The design of the research will be an interview and survey type of collecting data. There

will be questionnaires that the correspondents have to have answer through interview and written

questions that they have to answer. A survey will be held that can be a part of answering the

research questions.

Research Environment
Sample and Sampling techniques

The questionnaires will be distributed to the correspondents which are the grade 11 students

of Santiago Cultural Institute. Second, if the questionnaires are already distributed, explaining each

question is essential in order to make them understand the listed questions.

Data Gathering Instrument

First thing that will be used in this study be a questionnaires and if the questionnaires are

given the researcher must explain each question in order to make the participant or

correspondents understand each question.
