The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is seeking nominations and applications for our
W.I.L.D. (Wildlife Immersion and Leadership Development) youth employment
program. We are looking for teens from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to
work in our Education Department.

This program offers an enriching year-round, paid position for teens to develop their
sense of confidence, responsibility, leadership ability, and public speaking skills.
Qualified teens will be selected through a competitive interview process to join our
award-winning leadership program as a W.I.L.D. Steward.

W.I.L.D. Stewards will create and help deliver educational presentations using live
animals at various locations within the community. The Stewards are trained to work
with a variety of animals such as skinks, macaws, and tarantulas as well as people such
as school groups, business partners and other young leaders. The team will play, learn,
and work with our Education staff to support our goals of culturally representing and
inspiring everyone within our reach to deepen their relationship with wildlife and green
spaces.

If you know a teen between the ages of 15 and 18* who would be an asset to this Zoo
program, please nominate them, or have them contact:
