The Anecdote

Let me tell you an anecdote about Zita. When she _________ (come) to England back in 1999, it _______ (be)
summer time so it __________ (be) hot. She __________ (be/not) accustomed to this kind of weather, so she
__________ (stand) under a big tree to shelter from the sun when she __________ (hear) a loud scream, but
she __________ (do/not) know where it __________ (come) from, nor who __________ (be) screaming and
why.

The tree she __________ (be) sheltering under, was ________ (locate) in a big park, so she __________ (turn)
to see people’s faces but nobody __________ (seem) to be bothered at that horrible scream. Zita _________
(get) to thinking that no one cared about what was happening to the person who had screamed that loud.

It __________ (take) Zita some time to assimilate that she may have been the only one who _________ (hear)
that scream. She looked all around but she __________ (see) nothing. She __________ (sit) in the place she
__________ (have) under that tree still thinking what it may have been. She __________ (stand) up quickly
with the idea of investigating what had __________ (happen) there; somebody had __________ (scream) and
she needed to find out who had done it.

Zita __________ (start) to walk looking at people and in the gardens and everywhere trying to see if there
was somebody that __________ (need) help, but nothing. She __________ (keep) walking and right at that
moment she __________ (hear) that same horrible scream but this time closer, she __________ (be) so
scared that she __________ (be) shaking all over. Despite her fear, she __________ (go) to the place where
she __________ (detect) the scream.

There __________ (be) some bushes in the way, and when walking among them, she __________ (fall) over
and over again but that __________ (do/not) stop her. She __________ (make) her own way through the
bushes to get to the place where the screams __________ (come) from.

She soon __________ (find) out what had happened. When she passed through the bushes, she __________
(see) this playground for kids. There ___________ (be) a swing with an announcement that _________(say):
“This Swing Will Make You Scream Like Never Before”. “Oh, Gosh!” She ___________ (think), and right then
a little girl that was swinging hard screamed way too loud. Zita __________ (understand) it __________ (be)
a children’s game so she __________ (feel) relieved that no person __________ (be) hurt. She soon ________
(forget) about the incident because a little boy __________ (bring) her a big glass of cold and delicious water
that she happily __________ (drink).
