Directions!

1- Look at Amy's city map. What places can you see?

2- Amy is showing the city to her new friend Rae-Jin. Read the directions to the
following places. Look at the city map and write the correct numbers:

THE POLICE STATION - __3__

The police station is opposite my house!

THE POST OFFICE - __2__

To go to the post office, turn left when you leave the house. Then take the first left. Go
straight ahead and walk to the end of George Street. Cross Queens Road and the post
office is right in front of you, opposite my father's bakery!

THE DIY STORE - _6___

To go to the DIY store, turn right when you leave the house. Go straight ahead on
London Road and it's on your right. The DIY store is between House 6 and House 8.

THE NEWSSTAND - __4__

To go to the Newsstand, turn right when you leave the house. Go straight ahead to the
end of London Road. The Newsstand is on our left.

THE CLOTHES STORE - __7__

To go to the clothes store, turn right when you leave the house. Then, take the first right,
walk straight ahead, go past the roundabout. The clothes store is at the corner of Victoria
Road and Queens Road.

THE FLORIST'S - __1__

To go to the Florist's, turn right when you leave the house. Then, take the first right,
walk straight ahead, go past the roundabout. Go to the end of Victoria Road, cross
Queens Road and the florist's it's in front of you. The Florist's is next to the Movie
Theater.

THE LIBRARY - __5__

To go to the library, turn right when you leave the house. Then, walk down London
Road and take the second right. The library is on your left, opposite the supermarket.

3- Now write directions to the bakery, to the hospital and to Amy's school. Talk
about the other places and how to get there!

To go to the Bakery, turn left when you leave the house. Then, take the first left, walk
straight ahead to the end of George Street. The Bakery is on your right, in front of house

To go to the Hospital, turn right when you leave the house. Then, take the first right,
walk straight ahead to the end of Victoria Road. Then, turn left on Queens Road, go past
the movie theater anda Hospital is on your right.
