Response William

1. The writer tries to convince his readers to agree with his point
2. The author’s topic is about SAT, or standardize testing, cannot effectively show a
student’s academic knowledge and there should be an alternative system. This issue
affects all high school students who plan to attend college. This topic itself is really easy
to connect to the audiences because vast majority of the students that attend college
have this experience. However, more insider perspective should be given to the
audiences, such as what College Board say about SAT.
3. The author argues that standardized testing can reflect students’ logic but not their
performance because students tend to focus more on how to take the test then the
material.
4. The author argues his point by giving an example of SAT crash course that offers
strategies in order to get high score in reading. Which is a pretty strong argument
because I think in this essay personal experience will be stronger than statistics.
5. The author provides opposite viewpoints in the first paragraph, then opposes them later
on in his essay.
