Abstract

Background: The incidence of chronic renal failure in Indonesia is quite high from year to year. In
chronic renal failure typically will appear excess volume of fluid that can affect the quality of life of
patients. One of the symptoms that appear in an excess volume of fluid is edema. Proper handling
may be one of the ways to prevent further chronic renal failure and its complications. For that
prevention efforts need to tackle excess fluid volume in order to prevent patients undergoing
hemodialysis.

Objective: to describe efforts to prevent excess fluid volume in patients with chronic renal failure in
the ward Sakura Hospital Dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen.

Methods: The method used is descriptive method with case study approach, in ward Sakura Hospital
Dr. Soehadi Prijonegoro Sragen on March 29-March 31, 2016. By collecting data through look books
patient status, observations and ask questions or interview with the patient or the patient's family
and asked for consent from patients, medical records, journals and books.

Results: efforts made to prevent excess fluid volume in patients with chronic kidney disease, namely
the review of vital signs, balanced body weight daily, limit the input of input and output, assess the
input and output, explain to the patient and family about fluid restriction, aids in the face
RESTRICTIONS discomfort from fluid, collaboration in the provision of diuretics. The problem of
excess fluid volume is not resolved, continue intervention.

Conclusion: the problem is not resolved proceed interventions to excess fluid volume in patients
with chronic kidney disease.
