Four ICT Tools:

Using information and communication technologies (ICT), within early childhood, enhances

a child’s learning. Using ICT as a learning tool within the classroom allows students to observe

and make discoveries, engage in interactive activities, problem solve and explore their

creativity. Within my mathematics lesson I have included four crucial ICT tools which are

used as a learning tool, enhancing students learning. The first ICT tool includes answer

garden. Answer garden allows an educator to pose a question for students to answer via

their devices. Answer garden has been included as it is an interactive and engaging way to

spark student’s knowledge and submit responses in a fun way. Answer garden also allows

students to view other’s responses encouraging students to share ideas and learn

collaboratively. The second ICT tool included is google forms. Google forms allows students

to create and analyse surveys. By including google forms into my lesson plan, students will

work collaboratively in creating a survey, consequently, encouraging positive social skills of

working together. Google forms also allows students to immediately observe and analyse

the results of a survey. Through the visual representation of results, students will engage

positively contributing to child learning. The third ICT tool used includes keynote. Keynote is

an app which allows students to create presentations. In incorporating keynote into my

lesson, I have asked students to use the graphing tool and display their survey results into a

bar graph form. This app supports students understanding of analysing survey responses and

displaying it in a visual way. Students will be introduced to x and y axis and inserting results

in an interactive way. The final ICT tool includes canva. Canva is an online website which

allows students to display and create work. In using canva, students will display their bar

graphs in a poster form in a creative way. This shows the students what they have achieved

and their final product. Through using ICT tools as a learning tool, students will become

confident and creative individuals which will enhance student learning.
