RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF A BID FOR THE INSTALLATION OF

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE EWING SENIOR & COMMUNITY


CENTER TO RED OAK BUILDING GROUP, LLC

Resolution #10R- WHEREAS, it is necessary for the installation of a new main entrance including
automatic doors and related electrical and mechanical fixtures at the Ewing Senior & Community
Center; and

WHEREAS, the Township conducted a bidding process for the new main entrance including automatic
doors and related electrical and mechanical fixtures at the Ewing Senior & Community Center as set
forth in the Specifications and Bid Documents dated July 7, 2010 prepared by Spiezel Architectural
Group, Inc. pursuant the bidding provisions as set forth by the Local Public Contracts Law N.J.S.A.
40A:11-1 et. seq.; and

WHEREAS, the following bids were received and reviewed by the Township Attorney, the Township
Business Administrator and Spiezel Architectural Group, Inc.:

Red Oak BuildingGroup, LLC $61,820.00


Waters & Bugbee, Inc. $65,000.00
Golden Crown Contractors, Inc. $68,000.00
Martell Construction Co., Inc. $69,000.00
Arista Builders $75,500.00
Levy Construction Company, Inc. $79,600.00
DeSapio Construction, Inc. $79,617.00
Garozzo & Scimeca $81,500.00
Adirondack Construction $96,000.00; and

WHEREAS, the Township Attorney has reviewed the bids and determined that the bid of Red Oak
Building Group, LLC of Holmdel, New Jersey was the lowest responsible bid for said project and was
responsive to the Specifications and Bid Documents, and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has provided a Certification of Funds;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Ewing that it
hereby accepts the lowest responsive bid of Red Oak Building Group, LLC in the amount of $61,820.00
for the new main entrance including automatic doors and related electrical and mechanical fixtures at the
Ewing Senior & Community Center in accordance with the Specifications and Bid Documents referred
to herein, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and appropriate officials are hereby authorized to
execute a contract consistent with the terms and conditions of the aforesaid bid in a form substantially
similar to that annexed hereto.
