First lesson Lesson Goal(s) / Standards: 7.RI.2 Determine two or more central ideas in a text and analyze their development over the course of the text; provide an objective summary of the text. 7.RI.3 Analyze the interactions between individuals, events, and ideas in a text (e.g., how ideas influence individuals or events, or how individuals influence ideas or events). Lesson Objectives: Students will give a presentation on their monthly book. They will insert media and have pictures then learn and understand powerpoint. Materials Needed: Powerpoint Book Computer Contextual Factors/ Learner Characteristics: Were no SPED. There were more boys than girls in the class.
A. The Lesson
1. Introduction (include time allotment) 1.5 hours
● getting attention: Started off with reading class book aloud. ● relating to past experience and/or knowledge: Made sure they all knew how to use powerpoint. Then talked about the topic they have learned up to this point in the semester, Schema, Inferences, Questions ● creating a need to know: Need to know how to put a video in powerpoint. How to understand the text. ● sharing objective, in general terms
