vedāgamapurāṇānām dharmajñānaikabodhinā ṁ |
patḥanam pratyahaṁ yattt tritīyam śīlamīrita ṁ || 55 ||
Regular or daily recitations, study and internalization of the Veda-Agama-
Purana certainly cause the awakening of the pure knowledge and
consciousness of Dharma, the eternal cosmic law; and Jnana, the pure
science and knowledge (of Shiva). This is known as the third Shila. (55)
Having courageous faith and powerful cognition on and about the Agama
Nigama, the pure scriptur es as authoritatively revealed by the Guru has been
called śraddha, the forty second Shila.
Explanation:
In the above pramanas, Bhagavan Anantarudra beautifully, specifically uses
the term ‘VEDAGAMA’, glorifying the need for studying and internalizing th e
Shastras, the ultimate scriptures to experience the knowledge of Shiva, the
pure consciousness. This term ‘VEDAGAMA’ comes directly from Sadashiva’s
cosmic dictionary.
In another verse from the Chandra Jnana Agama, while expanding on ‘Shilas,
the powerful cognitions and dispositions’ for a seeker, He specifies the need
of the Guru, who is established in the Vedagamas, and one must learn the
Vedagama only from the Guru, this is called Shraddha, the authenticity
towards the Guru, who is Sadashiva, the pers onification of Truth. Therefore,
any truth revealed by the true Guru is grounded on Veda -Agamas and he
accepts the authority and cosmic legitimacy, as His own Atma pramana, his
direct experience ; and only then does it become the direct experience for a
disciple or seeker of truth. Sadashiva defines the basis of sanatana hindu
dharma - dharma-jñāna eka bodhināṁ - the awakening of dharma which is
eternal and pure awakening of knowledge.
