Results of Osmosis, Diffusion and Cell Membrane Experiment

The various cell environment caused change in weights of the bags containing different

types of solutions inside it. The first bag containing water kept in solution C did not show a

significant increase in weight over different periods of time. During the start of the experiment

the weight of the bag was 11.8 grams, and, in the end, it was recorded as 12.2 grams. It shows

that the total movement of water inside the bag was just 0.4 gm in 40 minutes. Similarly, the

third bag containing solution B kept in the beaker with solution C also did not show significant

change in the weight over time. The initial weight of the bag was 11.1 grams which increased to

12.9 grams after 40 minutes. There was a significant increase in the weight of the second bag

containing solution A kept in solution C. The initial weight was 11.6 grams which gained 4.7

grams of weight resulting in the final weight of 16.3 grams after 40 minutes. The fourth bag with

solution C kept in solution B decreased in weight over time. The initial weight was 11.2 grams

and the final weight was 8 grams after 40 minutes.
