The UR Team
Amazon

Dear Madam/Sir,

Subject: Pathways (Operations Leadership Development Program) Operations Manager

I am writing this letter to express my keen interest in the Pathways (Operations Leadership Development) Program at Amazon.
The program allows me the opportunity to pursue a career as a leader in Operations Management., which has always been my
aspiration. E-commerce industry has forever intrigued me since I believe that online retail has not only changed the way people
shop but also transformed the way businesses interact and deliver services to their customers. The coveted Pathways Program
would provide me the opportunity to work at Amazon, one of the largest online retail stores in the world, and become a part of this
dynamic global business model. I believe that my previous experience combined with an MBA degree has equipped me with the
necessary skills, experience and passion to excel in this program and become a successful leader capable of fueling further growth
in the future.

Prior to joining ISB, I worked as a design engineer at Engineers India Limited (EIL), one of the leading global consultancy firms
specializing in providing engineering, procurement and construction management services in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and
Energy sectors. Within two years of joining the organization, I was made the lead engineer for a prestigious green-field refinery
project. The role was a great learning curve for me as I received a good exposure in vendor selection, inventory planning, project
management & process improvement.

The project that is close to my heart is when I was made the youngest project administrator for an entire refinery and I had to
coordinate with cross-functional teams from various disciplines, including electrical, instrumentation & civil, to ensure timely
delivery of project deliverables. My role involved the designing of the overall layout of the project, inventory optimization,
procurement, vendor management, construction and commissioning of the entire project (concept to commissioning). Each
situation I encountered presented a unique and challenging experience. Interaction with people from distinct cultural & educational
backgrounds empowered me in tremendous ways. I got tremendous experience and insight from a business perspective regarding
strategy formulation, implementation and actual execution of the project. I realized that work cannot be strictly compartmentalized
and every situation must be looked from both the bird’s eye view and at a minute level. I was also responsible for the
recruitment and training of the design team.

At ISB, I have continued to work hard and constantly improve myself both academically and intellectually. I have been excelling
in academics, case competitions and various extracurricular activities. I believe all these experiences have made me a better
individual with a strong analytical and critical thinking mindset with the ability to multi-task and take responsibilities. This
coupled with my keen interest to pursue a career in operations make me a good fit for the role. I believe that I have the capability
to take up challenging assignments and deliver operational experience.

I am always striving to improve myself and looking to accomplish more every day. Amazon Pathways Program provides me the
opportunity to leverage my skills to develop innovative solutions that touch many lives, driving change and improving the
communities where we live and work. Working closely with other equally passionate individuals over a course of 3 years will help
me develop a broader perspective while gaining exposure to the world class Technology Centers, e-commerce Fulfillment Centers
or Customer Service Centers. I wish to have a challenging and fulfilling career path. I believe that my biggest achievements are yet
to come and Amazon would provide me the right platform to enable this.

I have enclosed my resume below for your kind consideration. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks and Regards
