It is with love, joy and pride / that I stand here today / to welcome you all to

celebrate the marriage of my daughter April and Louie / For those of you who don’t
know me / I’m the mother of the bride / On behalf of my husband / I thank you all
for giving your time to be part of this wonderful event / especially those who have
traveled a long way just to be here / We could not be more honored by your
presence here to celebrate with us /

April anak / you’re such a pretty, cheerful, and loving daughter / Your calmness
and strength are inspirational / Your wisdom and maturity are beyond your years /
These qualities permeate every aspect of your life / and we will always be proud.
Anak / it brings tears to my eyes / to remember all of the years we shared
together / I remember those times / when you are young and working overnight /
you always text me / “Ma, gising ka pa?” / “Ma, kamusta?” / “Ma, ano ginagawa
mo” / “Ma, wag ka muna matutulog ha / magkwentuhan muna tayo?” /and I
would ask / “bakit anak? May multo ba jan?” / then we would talk hours about
almost anything / I am grateful that I have learned a great deal from you / I am
delighted with whom you have become / and very proud of you / all these
memories add to the richness of our relationship / and the treasured friendship I
have with you / which makes me feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have you /
not only as my daughter / but as my best friend / And now even that you are
grown / you will always be our “abril” / “ate” / “ate hok” / and “anak” /. I may
not hold your hand each day / but I will always / and forever / hold onto your
heart/

Louie / I know April found an amazing partner in you / welcome to our family / I
value the love, kindness and patience that you give to my daughter / You have
overcome some tough storms together / and stayed by each other’s side for five
years now / I know / together both of you will create a wonderful family. I know /
April loves you with all of her heart /and that you are her best friend / and true
love.

April and Louie / you have our support and love for you as a couple / and as a
family / May you both be blessed with much happiness and love / and may today’s
joy always stay with you / With all our hearts / we congratulate the commitment
you have made to each other today / Louie / again / welcome to the family / May
