with Starch admixture (corn starch) in the composites of cement is to be studied in terms of
compressive strength and durability. Starch admixture is replaced with the mineral admixture which
according to recent studies increases density of concrete up to 1% of its usage by weight of cement.
There are some benefits of using chemical admixtures in concrete, it has disadvantage such as
environmental impact. Environmental pollution can occur when chemical admixtures are in contact
with environment, when storing concrete granulate containing admixtures and when concrete
granulate is used in construction. As the concrete admixtures are very readily soluble in water, they
create leaching problem. Hence there is need to find organic admixtures that improve properties of
concrete. Cinder sand is replaced by river sand by 25% its weight. From recent studies it is made
clear that about 30% replacement of cinders to sand has very less impact on strength, which reduces
the dead load of concrete.
