Designed for lovers of nature and adventure, this trek to the base camp of the world’s tenth highest
peak, Mt. Annapurna 1, features breathtaking views of the mountains as well as picturesque villages
famous for local Buddhist. Rightly often cited as Annapurna Sanctuary, Annapurna Base Camp is a
natural amphitheater opening to a 360-degree view of the Annapurna Range and several other majestic
Himalayan peaks.

In addition to the charms of the Himalayas and its unique trail traversing forests of bamboo, oaks and
rhododendron as well as monasteries, lakes and rivers, this package includes some fascinating
experiences in Kathmandu and Pokhara, making it a perfect honeymoon trip, if you are looking for one.
Otherwise, it is still the most sought-after trips in Nepal.

Best Season

The best time to do this Annapurna Base Camp trek is in the spring (Mar - May) & fall (Sep - Nov). It can
be done in the summer, monsoon months as well, but be sure to prepare for the rain. You can also do
this trek in winter, but best to inquire with one of our local experts if all the necessary teahouses will be
open at this time. Avalanches can also be a risk during the winter months, so it is important to trek with
a knowledgeable guide who is familiar with the conditions.

Accessibility

From Pokhara, you will have to drive for an hour by private transport the starting point of trek, Nayapul.
Almost all routes end in Nayapul, from where you will catch transport back to Pokhara. You can take a
jeep before Nayapul and cut off the first day of the trek if you have limited time.

Permits

You should buy Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and Trekker's Information Management
System (TIMS) which are to be displaced at the checkpoint in the beginning.

Accommodation & Meals

We shall arrange you the teahouses available along the entire trek, and all your meals. You can buy
water from local shops. At an additional cost, teahouses offers hot showers along with battery charging
and wi-fi, but reliability varies depending on the village and the season.

Clothing

Down or fiber filled waterproof jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, underwear, warm and
cotton trousers or jeans, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, long underwear, wool hat, sun hat, gloves, bathing
suit, track suit.

Other equipment

Sleeping bag (4 seasons), trekking hold all or stash sack with lock, daypack, water bottle, sun cream,
sunglasses, flashlight with spare bulbs and batteries, lip salve.

Other items

Insect repellent, toilet articles, diary, toilet roll, laundry soap, wet ones, pocket knife, tie cord, towel,
sewing kit, plasters, binoculars, camera, film, cards and personal medical kit

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking detail itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu via respective airlines.

On reaching at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, warmly greeted by our staff and guides for
transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu around Thamel area, the happening spot in Kathmandu
with many fine hotels and restaurants with shopping stores and shops, here our guide will brief you with
all information regarding Annapurna Base Camp trekking and while you are under our care.

Evening includes authentic Nepalese dinner in a nice local restaurant with cultural-folk programs to
entertain you with delicious meals.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with trek preparation and optional tour.

Today, allowing you much time to prepare for Annapurna Base Camp trekking with optional tour around
Kathmandu at places of interest with rest of the afternoon free for trek preparations and packing gear.

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)

Starting this fabulous and scenic moderate and adventurous Annapurna Base Camp Trekking taking a
morning drive towards Nepal Mid West with grand views of Ganesh-Langtang Himal, as the drive gets
closer towards Pokhara catch the views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Mt.
Machhapuchare known as Fish Tail due to its shape.

After exciting scenic drive reaching at Pokhara a famous and popular touristic spot of Nepal Himalaya,
blessed with natural wonders of snow capped peaks, rolling green hills and valley with serene lakes, in
Pokhara overnight by the Phewa Lake with ample time for short walks around the lake.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (trek point) and trek to Ghandruk 1,940m -04 hrs.

After a wonderful stop at scenic Pokhara, our adventure starts with few hour drives from Pokhara
towards mid hills, offering views of Annapurna Himalaya range including the majestic

Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail” as the ride reaches Nayapul (new bridge) situated on Pokhara-
Baglung / Beni highway.

From here our walk begins on gradual trail to reach at lovely Bhirethati village, from here our route
diverts following the Modi River upstream past farm lands and villages, on leaving the river behind at
Syali Bazaar, then starting a long climb on stop steps into farm terraces and Gurung villages of Kimche
and slowly walk leads to a large village at Ghandruk, populated with mostly Gurung ethnic tribes.

Here explore around Gurung village, one of the largest village within Annapurna region, where the men
folk have long traditions supplying finest soldiers in British and Indian Gorkha Regiments.

At Ghandruk with many good lodges for overnight stay after good walk of few hours, Ghandruk offers
views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli peaks with tips of Machhapuchare Himal.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m - 06 hrs.

From Ghandruk walk leads up on top of the village and then walking on moderate trail within cool shade
of forest, soon leading to an hour climb up at Kimrong ridge, with few lodges and tea-houses after a
short rest heading downhill to Kimrong Khola and its beautiful valley for lunch stop.

After lunch few hours uphill haul to reach a ridge of Chomrong village, where walk leads to a short
descend reaching another large Gurung village at Chomrong, this is one of last permanent village on
route Annapurna base camp and sanctuary.

Chomrong village with lovely lodge with views of beautiful landscapes and snow capped peaks of
Annapurna South-Huinchuli and Fish Tail peaks.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,600 m via Bamboo 2,310 - 06 hrs.

With pleasant overnight at Chomrong our route leads downhill to Chomrong River, after crossing a
bridge with climb on stone steps to Sinuwa Danda (ridge) with glorious views of surrounding hills and
snow clad peaks, here with short rest as the walk leads into serene cool alpine forest of tall
rhododendron-oaks-magnolia-pines and fir tree lines on winding gradual trail.

After a lovely morning walk of few hours then descend into bamboo thickets reaching at Bamboo a
settlement with number of lodges within bamboo and alpine woods by the Modi River.

From entering into Modi River gorge, where walk leads to slow climb within forested areas and then
finally ending the day walk at Dovan with overnights in this isolated place by the sound of Modi River.

Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m - 05 hrs.

From here onward walking into a gorge where the air is much cooler within forest as the walk proceeds
with short climb reaching at large overhanging cave known as Hinko, and then walk to Himali Hotel for
short rest and refreshment, and then walk leads downhill past old rubble landslides and glaciers by the
river Modi, after crossing a small temporary wooden bridge leading to a short climb at Deurali with 5-6
lodges.

At Deurali for lunch the only place with lodge from here onwards into pure wilderness where tree lines
declines for smaller alpine bushes and shrubs, as the walk leads to a climb following raging Modi River
upstream to reach our overnight halt at Machhapuchare Base Camp.

Located just behind at the bottom of Machhapuchare Himal North Face, this is where Annapurna
Sanctuary begins.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m - 03 hrs with free afternoon.

After a wonderful morning catching views of Fish Tail and peaks of Annapurna South with Huinchuli
including massive Mt. Annapurna I listed as world's tenth highest mountains at 8,091 m high.

Walk leads to a slow climb on grassy slopes to reach a wide plateau into the sanctuary encircled within
amphitheatre of high snow clad peaks, and then reaching our main highlight of the adventure at
Annapurna Base Camp, the highest spot of the trek at 4,130 m high with sweeping panorama of
mountains and glaciers.

Here with enough time to enjoy the views of Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545 ft) Vara-Shikar peaks /
Annapurna Fang, Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Huin-chuli, Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft)
Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft) with Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) the unclimbed and virgin peak.

Day 09: Trek back to Bamboo 2,310 m - 06 hrs.

Enjoying amazing views of high giant mountains within Annapurna Sanctuary and its base camp, our
return route leads back to Bamboo on the same trail with downhill walk most of the way with few short
climb on route to our overnight stop at Bamboo.

Day 10: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m - 05 hrs.

After a refreshing morning with the sound of raging Modi River a short climb to reach into forested
areas, where gradual walk leads at Sinuwa Danda with few lodges and views of Chomrong and Ghandruk
village in the distance.

From here on long downhill walk to Chomrong River, on crossing a bridge with steep climb to Chomrong
village for lunch.

Afternoon with short climb to a ridge and then descend towards Jhinu Danda for overnight stop in one
of its lovely nice lodge with afternoon free to enjoy the hot spring which is about 30 minutes down from
the lodge by the River Modi.

Day 11: Trek to Potana 1,900 m via Landruk - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant and relaxing time at Jhinu village, morning walks leads to a descend for an hour towards
Modi River, on crossing the bridge with short climb to Landruk village, another large Gurung village,
from here on gradual winding trail past terraced farm fields and scattered villages with an uphill for 40
minutes to reach at scenic Deurali ridge of above 2,150 m high offering grand views of Dhaulagiri and
Annapurna peaks.

After Deurali walk all the way to Potana village for overnight stop with superb views of mountains
located within forest surrounding.

Day 12: Trek to Kande 1,770 m via Australian camp and drive to Pokhara - 04 hrs.

Morning catching the mountain views, our last walk of this short wonderful trek leads uphill into cool
rhododendron forest to Thulo Kharka popularly called Australian Camp, a wonderful spot with grand
views of Annapurna Mountains, from here on downhill to reach at Kande village by the road head of
Baglung-Pokhara highway.

After completing our marvelous country walk on the high hills of Annapurna and then an hour drive
brings you back at picturesque Pokhara with fantastic time on Annapurna Himalayan Trek.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Early morning transfer to bus or other smaller vehicle for scenic and exciting drive to Kathmandu as the
morning ride leads towards farm villages and towns and driving along the Marysangdi and Trisuli River
toward Mugling Bazaar, and then after an interesting 5-6 hours journey reaching at hustle and bustle of
Kathmandu city life.

Day 14: Transfer to international airport for flight homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal, the land of Himalayan wonders as per your international flight time our staff will
transfer you to airport for your flight homeward bound or to respective destination with wonderful
experience on Annapurna Base Camp Trekking.
