AWS Solution Architect Associate Training –

Lab Requirements
The following components are required for each participant to successfully complete
the various Hands-on Labs in AWS:
 A desktop / laptop with 4 GB RAM preferably
 Latest Windows / Linux operating systems
 Latest version of web-browser with HTML5 / JavaScript enabled (Chrome,
Firefox, IE, etc.)
 Internet connectivity - We are organizing AIRTEL 4G connection. If you have personal
internet connection then pls bring in for better experience.
 AWS Free Tier (Activated) / Paid Account
 Putty.exe and Puttygen.exe
 MySQL Workbench 6.3
Note: Some of the Labs are NOT eligible under the AWS free-tier account. The trainer
will indicate before each lab if there are charges incurred for performing the lab. For
this 3 days training, it is roughly estimated that the total charges will NOT exceed Rs.
50/-, if you opt for the labs that are charged.

Creating a free-tier account in AWS:

Use the above link and follow instructions as mentioned to create a free tier account in
AWS. You will need a validcredit / debit card and a mobile to create this account.
The credit / debit card is used for identification purposes only. If there is a nominal
debit of Rs. 2/- (sometimes $1) from your card, the same will be credited back in a
couple of days.
Important: Create the free-tier account at least 2 days before the start of the
training since this account, may, at times take 24 hours to get activated. If your
account is not activated by the first day of the training, you will be missing out on
a lot of hands-on labs.
To test if your desktop / laptop is correctly activated, sign in using the portal
console.aws.amazon.com – provide your credentials and you should land on the
AWS Management Console. On the top left, notice the tab “Services”, and select
EC2 from the drop-down box. If you can view the EC2 dashboard, then your
account has been fully activated.
