Pollution is an issue that has always been talked by people lately. Every day there are
media reports about this environmental pollution. This has led people awareness about the
environmental pollution problem. The government and non-governmental organizations
have made various effort to ensure that the environment is well preserve. However, the
symptoms of environmental pollution is still everywhere as if there was no end. There are
some precaution steps can be taken to overcome these problems.

One step that can be done to settle the pollution’s problems is the authorities need
to punish individuals or organizations who have been found guilty of polluting the
environment. Authorities such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment
should enforce the existing laws to punish these guilty individuals or organiZation. The
penalties imposed shall be commensurate with the action that had been done which is
pollute the environment. In addition, law enforcement actions should be implemented
without exception of any parties and must do it consistently. Individuals and organizations
that are polluting usually are not affected by the penalties imposed. They will repeat this act
if the sentence imposed on them is not so heavy. In fact, some are willing to pay fines for
polluting the environment again because they know the fine only once. They are free to
make any mistakes again after pay the fine imposed. Therefore, the authorities must be
more assertive in imposing fines against the polluters.

In addition, schools should introduce environmental education to schoolchildren.

Environmental education involves various aspects that can lead to the preservation purpose.
A special curriculum must be designed so that exposure can be carried out systematically.
The curriculum can be intergrate in other subjects and can also be used as a new special
subject. The purpose of this special subjecy is to cultivate awareness among student more
effectively. Young people especially school students studying in primary schools should be
exposed to the knowledge of the environment in a more systematic. If from childhood they
were given such exposure, they will feel more responsible towards the environment when
they grow up. This will overcome the environmental pollution in the future, as the saying
goes, let the hair bend of the shoot. Thus, the introduction of environmental subject in
schools is a stepstone to overcome environmental pollution in the future.

Next, to overcome the environmental pollution, the government needs to implement

more effective campaigns among people in the city and village. The campaign is the most
effective method for delivering a piece of information to the people. Various type of media
can be used to showcase the delivery of information through the campaign. For example,
television is the medium that is closest to the people. In general, every household in our
country have a television set. Thus, the television should be used as maximum as can to
distribute information about the environmental pollution. Other media such as newspapers
and radio should also be utilized to showcase environmental campaign. Before this the
campaign was undertaken not so effectively. This is because the campaign was not going
seriously.The parties only undertake a campaign is like a chisel with a hammer. Sometimes
campaigns are seasonal activities. Therefore, a more effective campaign should be carried
out consistenly in earnest to solve the problem of environmental pollution.
