Type of Institution Joiner State University is a 4-year private not-


for- profit institution. The Carnegie
classification is Doctoral Universities: Highest
Research Activity.

Location Joiner State University is in Durham, North


Carolina. The area is very rural and suburban.
Perfect location to raise a family and has a lot
of mom and pop stores.

Students - Number and Demographics There are approximately 14, 832 students total.
6, 449 undergraduates, 8, 383 graduate
students attend the university. There are 70
percent full-time students and 30 percent part-
time students. Most of the students who attend
Joiner State are on campus student’s due to the
30 residence halls we have on campus. We
have a wide range of ethnicities who attend.
It’s about 30% African American, 30%
Caucasian, 20% latin/o, 10% pacific islander
and 10% international students. The average
age to attend the university is between 18-30.
Accreditation Joiner State University is accredited by the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
Commission on Colleges (SACS) to award
baccalaureate, masters, doctorate, and
professional degrees.

Academic Advising Programs.

Joiner State University mission is to provide a


superior liberal education to undergraduate
students, attending not only to their intellectual
growth but also to their development as adults
committed to high ethical standards and full
participation as leaders in their communities. To
prepare future members of learned professions

providing excellent graduate and professional
education.
