ROUGH JUSTICE

BY JACOB JARVIS
A charity volunteer has been told to pay a
£70 fine for stopping in a bus lane outside
the train station as he spread festive
goodwill.
Army veteran Lee Williamson, left, pulled
over in a deserted city centre on Christmas
Day to give a rough sleeper a hat, scarf,
gloves, a blanket and some festive treats.
“There was no traffic and he was sat on his
own without another person in sight,” said
Lee. “He was absolutely over the moon.”
However, the city council has issued a pen-
alty ticket, and has refused to rescind it.
