SECTION A

influences.

6. "Livestock farming is both a business and a way of life". Comment on this in details.

7. Discuss merits and limitations, if any, of modern system of housing for young and growing buffalo calves, dairy
bulls, sows and broiler chicken. Also discuss the importance and value of shade to farm livestock in tropical
climates.
8. What is shelf life of different dairy products? Discuss how their shelf life can be extended.

blocks.

(b) Mineral Components of milk
(c) Milk fever
(d) Cheddar cheese

6. Discuss the measures for dealing with outbreaks of contagious and infectious diseases of livestock.

7. Describe briefly the disorders of carbohydrate and fat metabolism in domestic animals.

8. Describe the characteristics of an innovation. What should be the criterion to select a suitable medium for the
effective diffusion of an innovation?
