hello, my name is sebastian aguilera, and today i'm going to speak about a thing that for
most of you, is now common and popular, but in the past, not too distant to this present, it
was not. im referring to the trap, most specifically, the argentina trap. how the argentina
trap is listen here? and most important, when did that happen? follow me in this
magnificent journey.
first question, and a little dumb one, where did all began? as you can imagine, in the
beautiful country, and our neighborhood, argentina.
argentina 2016, a revolution began. the trap start to expand from city to city. it was no
more an underground music, the people from argentina start to listen trap more and more.
2017, the argentina trap is going only forwards. artist like duki or paulo londra start to
sound familiar on argentina and start to be local famous people. and start to accumulate
views, sometimes reaching the 1 million views on youtube.
but here is where this start to increase significantly, lates 2017. around august and
october the trap arrive on chile. only a few people here listen to them. people who knew
the artist before they reach chile and some people who discovered trap via spotify,
youtube or other streaming music page. i really don't know what happened, or where
specifically happen, but one normal day, the argentina trap explode on chile.
everyday more and more people start to listen to their music, big hits that chile and
argentina start to sang together.. like “Vete”, or “loca” by khea, she dont give a fo, hello
cotto, si te sentis sola by duki, nena maldición, condenado para el millon by paulo and
many other song and artist from, as you can imagine, argentina.
recently “Loca” by khea reach the 100 million views on youtube and she dont give a fo by
duki do the same thing days later. artist who in the past only reach one million in their
songs, if they were lucky, start to reach 100 millions views on youtube, and more than 50
million on spotify. and all of that in less than a year. artist that in the past sing on the park
with 10 people as audience, now they are doing concerts. yesterday, khea sang in the
movistar arena along ozuna… a worldwide known reggaeton artist.
this also have influated in chilean people who release new trap songs every day. artists
like drefquila start to sound familiars on the chilean streets, and this is a product of the
argentina trap.
what i'm trying to explain.. is that the great trappers of argentina, they are also famous
here. they are so good that they diserveded the recognition not only in their native country,
also in others, like chile. the chilean frontier is now, and always open for argentina trap
