Trayectoria del rap

Rap is a style of music that comes from the black and Latino neighborhoods of
New York in the year 1970, this genre was created to represent hip hop. As we can
see, it is a very recent music genre that is slowly growing in the music industry.
Rap has spread to other places different from the United States, such as Mexico,
Colombia, England and other countries in Latin America and Europe. New
exponents of rap came out of these countries and most were poor people who
wanted to raise their voices.
Rap has grown thanks to the fact that several of its exponents have won very
important awards such as the Grammys, American Music Awards, Billboard, and
other awards in which great rap exponents have participated.

Exponentes del rap

Now we are going to show the exponents of rap, as I said before we have
exponents from all over the world. In the United States, we have exponents like
Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Drake, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and others. These
are some of the greatest exponents in America and the ones that have won the
most awards. In Latin America we have lesser known exponents although in the
Spanish speaking community they are better known, we have Wos, Trueno,
Azcino, Chuty, BTA, Papo and others.
These exponents are best known for rap battles, these battles are battles between
rappers who try to improvise by making rhymes.
Most of these rappers are very young and emerging singers, trying to express
what they feel in their songs. These rappers have won very few awards since
rappers and the rap genre is undervalued and that makes other genres such as
pop, win more awards.

El pasado y predicciones
Now I'm going to talk about the past of rap and the predictions for rap, the past of
rap is very difficult since rap was a way of expressing disagreeing thoughts. In the
80s many rappers made songs to protest against racism towards blacks and
oppression towards the black community. In the past, rap has also served to help
drug addicts seek a better future. And finally, in the past rap was a more street,
urban and underground style of rap, and now it is a calmer style of music and for
the majority of the public.
And my predictions is that rap is going to be a more global genre and that more
people will like it. This is because the songs and the exponents of now try more to
seek success in their songs and not so much to express their feelings. They make
the songs in a more commercial and monetary way. This allows rap to reach many
more places and be more successful. I also believe that Latino exponents will be
more successful and that Latino rap will not be so undervalued and will win many
awards.

CHANGES
And finally I am going to explain the changes that rap has had from its beginning
until now, one of the main changes has been the instrumental, before the
instrumental was something called beatbox, these are sounds generated with the
mouth of a person and now it is a sound generated by a computer that mixes
different sounds
Another change as I said before are the exponents, the exponents of now try more
to sell their songs and generate money unlike before where they tried to make
songs out of feeling and pleasure.
Another change has been the lyrics, the lyrics now are more like love stories and
the old ones are anecdotes from the street and the underground.
