I N TROD U CTION:-

 A Resort is an isolated place, self-


contained commercial establishment that
tries to provide, such as food, drink,
lodging, sports, entertainments, and Spa for
health beauty and relaxation.

 Ski resort is a resort usually destination


resort where ski is a main activity.

 Resort design with adaptations of


vernacular style architecture following
Pir panjal range of Himachal.

 Site is contoured and comprises area 7.5

Validity:-
Validity:-
 Manali has lost its identity in case of building structures,
so to revive its unique architectural identity.

 Area is lacking in promoting winter sports, so to


popularize winter games and spreading awareness
among tourists.

AIM:-
 The aim is to design complex in vernacular
architecture of Himachal and creating visual
interest by utilizing the existing topography of
the site.

OBJECTIVE:-
 To familiarize with local construction techniques
and material.
 Familiarizing with passive solar design.
 To preserve local culture .
 To familiarize with planning on contours.
SCOPE OF WORK:-
 Multifunctional resort which will focus both on overnight and daytime services.

 Resort blending luxurious facilities with vernacular architecture.

 Scope is to design resort which will promote winter sports.

DELIMITATIONS:-
 The designing aspect will be constrained to the activities inside the resort.

 Construction techniques and material will be studied as per project requirement.
