Asset Class Conversion

Transform and Align in Financials

SAP system (for example after an acquisition).

Business • You want to merge different asset classes that have the same meaning but have been defined separately (with different
IDs).
Requirements
• You want to align your asset classes in the context of a Chart of Accounts Conversion.
• You want to assign all fixed assets of an asset class to another asset class that already exists (with different Customizing).

Asset Class Conversion

Features:
• Transformation covers master data, transaction data, and customizing data.
• The descriptions (texts) for asset classes can be changed during the conversion.
• It is possible to rename asset classes (1:1 relation).
• It is possible to merge asset classes (n:1 relation).

Solution Special considerations:

• If the reconciliation accounts to be posted to change by the merging of asset classes for a fixed asset, amounts from the old
accounts (before the conversion) are transferred to the new accounts (after the conversion).
• As asset classes are defined at client level, changes to asset classes always apply to all company codes that belong to the
same client.
