DISCUSSION

In this experiment, we had done the scoring test. Scoring is a form of rating using a
numerical scale. The numbers used in scoring from an interval or ratio scale. For example, the
different scores have a defined and mathematical relationship to each other. Scoring is used for
evaluating the intensity of one or more attributes.

During the experiment, we were asked to evaluate three types of biscuits with the same
flavor but different brands and based on our taste buds, we were to record our results on a graduated
scale. The results obtained by the three assessors varies greatly Based on results obtained, it can
be observed that the biscuit that has a dark yellow-brown is the third biscuit which is the biscuit
on the right while biscuit that has a light yellow-brown colour is the second biscuit which is the
one on the middle. For the biscuit air space size, the biggest air space is the third biscuit while the
smallest air space is the first biscuit. For the taste of the biscuit, the crispiest biscuit out of the three
is the third biscuit while the least crispy one is the second biscuit. Next, for the saltiness level of
the biscuit, it was observed that the third biscuit is very salty while the second biscuit is not so
salty. For the texture of the biscuits, we had seen that second biscuit has a very crumbly structure
while the first biscuit is not crumbly when eaten. Lastly, for the likeness level towards the product,
it was observed that the first product were strongly liked by the accessors.

Based on the scoring test by three assessors, the first product has the highest likeness level
because of the five factors said before that made the biscuit strongly liked by two out of three
assessors. This happens because different individuals experience different intensity of specified
characteristic. We had actually managed to reach all the objectives of this test and also familiarize
with the concept of additional sensation and threshold tests.
