1 Introduction

This chapter illustrates how to exercise the digital camera reference design using TR4 in minutes.

1.2 System Requirements

The following items are required for TR4_D5M_VIP demonstration.

• TRDB-D5M board x 1
• HSMC-DVI board x 1
• TR4 Board x 1
• LCD monitor with at least one DVI input x 1
• DVI Cable x 1
• DDR3 SO-DIMM (Bundled in the TR4)

1.4 Operation

This section describes the procedures of running the demonstrations.

1
1. Ensure the connection is made correctly as shown in Figure 1-1. Make sure the D5M is
connected to JP10 (GPIO 1) and DVI daughter card is connected to J14 (HSMC port B) of the
TR4 board
2. Connect the DVI TX output of the DVI daughter card to a DVI monitor.
3. Use a USB cable to connect TR4 with PC.
4. Power on TR4 ,and run the batch file \TR4_D5M_VIP\demobatch\ TR4_D5M_VIP.bat
5. The system enters the FREE RUN mode automatically. Press BUTTON [0] on the TR4 board
to reset the circuit.
6. User can use the SW [0] with BUTTON [1] to set the exposure time for brightness adjustment
of the image captured. When SW [0] is set to Off, the brightness of image will be increased as
BUTTON [1] is pressed longer. If SW [0] is set to On, the brightness of image will be
decreased as BUTTON [1] is pressed shorter.
7. Set the SW [1] to On (upper position), the captured image will be enlarged with BUTTON [1]
pressed. Set the SW [1] to OFF (down position), the captured image will change back with
BUTTON [1] pressed
