To whom it may concern,

It is with great pleasure that I write to you on behalf of Paola Carrera an intelligent, ambitious, and hard working
professional. Please accept this letter of recommendation in full support of Paola. I have known Paola since fall of
2016 when I was Coordinator for Sorority & Fraternity Life and she began her graduate assistantship as
Programming Graduate Assistant at Loyola University Chicago within the Department Student Activities & Greek
Affairs.

Within the two years of working with Paola, I have seen her grow and develop as a professional. Paola has a vision
to improve the quality of a student’s experience at Loyola. She is one to take initiative and she is able to express her
mind and opinion. She does not shrink from any task put in front of her. Her strengths lie in her ability to be
reliable and in building relationships. She works well with students and staff and I have seen her connect with
students in a deeper level by building trust and relationships. She has made strides to make programs and practices
more inclusive. I have witnessed Paola work through some difficult and stressful situations with more than just a
positive attitude, but with grace and as a true professional.

Paola has taken the time to develop herself holistically and has dived into several professional development
opportunities. She has explored and immersed herself in different functional areas. Some of these areas include
student programming, academic services, and international student services just to name a few. She has also take
any opportunity to grow by being a cluster facilitator for Leadershape, facilitating leadership programs for sororities
and fraternities, and even being a staff leader for an Alternative Break Immersion Trip to El Paso and Juarez. She
has absorbed herself in all of these opportunities not only to grow as a professional, but to ultimately service the
student’s development. She aspired to make a difference and impact in the field of student affairs.

Paola has been a pleasure to work with as a colleague and is someone I look forward to seeing continue to grow as a
professional. I am excited to see the work she will do for our profession.

Sincerely,

Astrid Beltran
