Pre-Assessment: I found that the one student partially met the first learning goal. But the

student did meet the second learning goal. The third learning goal did not apply to the pre-

assessment. The first goal was measured by the students ability to decode multisyllabic words

by breaking the words into syllables are determining the number of syllables. The student only

partially met this goal because she did not break the entire word into the correct syllables. The

results of this assessment are shown on the rubric above. The second goal was measured by

the students ability to read the words fluently and accurately after breaking them into syllables.

The student met this goal, while reading all the words accurately and fluently on the first try.

Lesson One: Student were expected to meet three learning objectives for this lesson. The

student was expected to decode multisyllabic words by placing in the correct syllable column

or by breaking the words into syllables. The student only partially met the first objective. The

student was then expected to read her chapter book and her fluency reading story with fluency

and accuracy. The student met the second objective. Lastly the student was expected to spell

different words using the spelling rule being reviewed. The student partially met this objective.
Lesson Two-Five: Student were expected to meet three learning objectives for these lesson.

These lessons are categorized together as the student has the same results for each objectives

in each of these four lesson. For the first objective the student was expected to decode

multisyllabic words by placing in the correct syllable column or by breaking the words into

syllables. The student only partially met the first objective. The student was then expected to

read her chapter book and her fluency reading story with fluency and accuracy. The student

met the second objective. Lastly the student was expected to spell different words using the

spelling rule being reviewed. The student did not meet this objective.

Post-Assessment: For the post-assessment the student was expected to meet two of the

three objectives. For the first objective similar to the pre assessment the student was required

to break multisyllabic words into syllables and then determine the number of syllables in the

word. The student only partially met this goal. For the second objective the student was asked

to read the words around with fluency and accuracy. The student met this objective.

Conclusions: Although the rubric does not show significant growth for this student growth was

made in great strides specifically in the decoding of multisyllabic words. Although she

continued to not meet the objective she continued to grow her decoding skills and was able to

decode more of the words in the post assessment compared to the pre-assessment. Very little

growth was made with the third objective and this is a skills that is new to the student and a

specific skill the student is struggling with. For the second objective the student made

significant growth with the amount of errors decreasing in reading. The student reviewed oral

feedback and guided practice and she worked through her independent work.
