Falcon Football

Activity Type: Group game, running and teamwork

Age Group: 8+

Benefits: teamwork, coordination, exercise

Equipment/Materials: Football and cones to mark end zone

Environment: open space

Number of players: 12-15 players on two even teams

Objective/Purpose of Activity: A variation of football and ultimate frisbee. Each team tries
to score touchdowns

Directions: Falcon football is a mix between football and ultimate frisbee. It is played by di-
viding into two even teams (preferably about 12-15 kids per team but could work with more)
with one football. It is played like actual football but once the player catches the ball they
must stand in the spot the caught it and then they throw the ball to a member of their team.
If the ball is intercepted by the other team the player must also stay still in the spot the ball
is caught and they are now on offense. The team who scores five touchdowns first will win the
game.

Safety Concerns: Remind kids to be careful when running to be looking out for other people.
Safety concerns include falling, running into each other, and getting hit with the football

Variations: can change the number of touchdowns needed to win the game in order to
shorten or lengthen the game. Can be played in different areas and size of the playing field
may affect team size. If a team has players on the bench, players switch in and out after each
touchdown.
