I Scope
B. Only shop applied, internal, lining shall be required by this specification. It does
not address coating external pipe surfaces or field application of lining.
A. Any conflicts between this specification and other applicable Saudi Aramco
Materials System Specifications (SAMSSs), Engineering Standards (SAESs),
Standard Drawings (SASDs), or industry standards, codes, and forms shall be
resolved in writing by the Company or Buyer Representative through the
Manager, Consulting Services Department of Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.
B. Direct all requests to deviate from this specification in writing to the Company
or Buyer Representative, who shall follow internal company procedure
SAEP-302 and forward such requests to the Manager, Consulting Services
Department of Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.

All referenced Specifications, Standards, Codes, Forms, Drawings, and similar material
shall be considered part of this Specification to the extent specified herein and shall be
the latest issue (including all revisions, addenda, and supplements) unless stated
otherwise.

Specification. The text in each paragraph below is an addition, exception, modification,
or deletion to AWWA C205 - 95 as noted. Paragraph numbers not appearing in
AWWA C205 - 95 are new paragraphs to be inserted in numerical order.

(Exception) Mixing water shall not contain more than 500 ppm of total
dissolved solids.
4.4.2 Thickness
(Exception) Delete "... or as specified by the Purchaser " and "... and the
lining holdback shall be as specified by the Purchaser for the type of joint
required."
4.4.2.1 (Addition) For sleeved pipe, there shall be no cutback. The cement mortar
lining shall be flush with the end of the pipe.
4.4.2.2 (Addition) For pipe that has been specifically designated for butt welding,
the cement mortar lining shall be cut back a minimum of 10 mm to a
maximum of 25 mm from the end of the pipe.
4.4.2.3 (Addition) The thickness of the cement lining shall be checked within 0.6m
of the end of the pipe at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions.
5.1 (Addition) The following tests shall be performed prior to and during lining.

for testing and the acceptance criteria. The Buyer reserves the right to
require more frequent or additional test if these criteria are not met.
5.2 (Addition) Buyer reserves the right to obtain samples, of either the delivered
product or its constituent components, which ever the Buyer deems
necessary to verify compliance to any of the quality requirements stated in
this Specification.
5.3.1 Inspection
(Addition) The Vendor shall furnish all equipment and instruments needed
to perform inspections. The items manufactured to this Specification are
subject to verification by the Purchaser's Inspection Representative, per
Saudi Aramco Inspection Requirements Form 175-012500, attached to the
Purchase Order.
