AGREEMENT

Student Government Association and the University of Southern Maine

The Student Senate of the University of Southern Maine (Student Senate) hereby endorses,
permits, and facilitates the transfer of our current financial mechanism away from the Student
Government Association Business Office to the University of Southern Maine Business Office.

The Student Senate and University of Southern Maine hereby recognize that the Student
Government Association shall remain an independent organization within the University in
accordance with all published University Governance documents. The Student Senate shall have
unilateral authority over the entire Student Activity Fee per Board of Trustees mandate. If this
section is violated, financial responsibilities shall revert to the previous system as an independent
organization outside of USM business operations.

The Student Government Association shall be staffed as it deems necessary utilizing leased
employees of USM and student employees in accordance with the SGA Constitution and Bylaws.

The Student Senate and the University of Southern Maine agree to work mutually and in good
faith to resolve concerns/issues which may arise. If such concerns/issues cannot be resolved,
either party may give a 90 day notice of termination of this agreement.
