Effect of a 12-Week Physical Program on Gross Motor Skills in Children

This journal article discusses the importance that physical activity has in the production of gross
motor skills for K-6 students. The researchers of this article conducted an experiment by using a
sample of 1,460 low income school aged children, and putting them into a twelve-week physical
activity program. The program included physical activity professionals coming into the schools
and helping the students get active in a variety of ways. At the end of the program the
researchers saw an increase in gross motor skills because of the impact of the physical program.
Therefore, they found that it is important to implement physical activity for all students in the
K-6 age group to improve gross motor skills.

Classdojo.com: The Effects of a Digital Classroom Management Program

This dissertation discusses the effects of an online behavioral management tool called, Class
Dojo. Wilson conducts research on a group of kindergarten students to see if this program
actually allows students to behave in the proper way. Her research concluded that the use of
Class Dojo in the classroom helped improve behavior by establishing goals of the classroom. As
well it helps the teacher have standards for her classroom. Results show that students enjoy
the use of the program, Class Dojo.

Dance Revolution

This article explains in detail about a non-profit organization that gives opportunities to
low income households to perform in the arts, by the ability of dance. The non-profit is called,
The Wooden Floor, and has been a break through to helping those in poverty. This organization
is in Santa Ana, California and has been able to help dancers attend college and gain leadership
leadership experience. As well, the article explains in great detail how the organization can
provide a free experience of a professional dance organization.
