so the culture for learning isn’t just in the classroom
• Progress binder of the student sent home to students so parents
can see their students growth
• By being culturally responsive
• Creating an environment where students feel confident to share
about their cultures
• Inclusive
• Include all the cultures represented in the classroom in the
curriculum
• Use other cultures’ holidays and celebrations as teaching moments
• By being socially conscious
• Get to know the students on a personal level so they know you
• If they know you, they will listen to you
• Praise; Don’t point out deficiencies
• Know students’ backgrounds & what factors might influence their
behavior & learning
