SMK JERAI ENGLISH CARNIVAL (TALENT TIME)

RULES AND REGULATION

1. This competition is open to all secondary school students in Kedah between the ages of 13 to 17.
2. This competition is divided into TWO categories: SOLO and DUET
3. CONTESTANT
a. Contestant can only take part in one category.
b. All contestants are to dress appropriately. Indecent exposure is NOT allowed.
c. Contestant will not be allowed to refer to the lyrics while singing.
4. SONGS
a. The songs must be in ENGLISH ONLY.
b. Use of vulgar, sexually explicit, black metal or violent language and/or lyrics is strictly prohibited.
c. Contestants are to provide the song title and the MINUS ONE upon registration.
d. Contestant must provide the MINUS ONE in CD/ USB Flash Drive
e. Contestants may dance to the same songs as another contestant or group
5. ORDER OF PERFORMING
a. The order in which each contestant, SOLO/DUET competes shall be determined by a random drawing
6. JUDGING
a. A 100-point system is used based on the following criteria:
b. Vocal Range – Is there wide range of vocals? Does the voice crack? Monotone? 1-15 points
c. Vocal Quality – Does the style of the song match the voice? 1-15 points
d. Pronunciation – Is the English pronunciation correct? 1-20 points(solo) / 1-10 (duet)
e. Stage Performance – Make effective use of stage? Does the attire match the mood of the song? 1-20 points
f. Timing – Is the singing match the music? 1-10 points
g. Mastery of the Lyric – does the contestant remember all the lyrics correctly? 1-20 points
7. The Judges' decisions on the results are Final. No correspondence or appeal shall be entertained.
