WRITTEN STUDENT LEARNING PLAN 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

Student Name: Joe Smith Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-time Grade Level:
Hours per week to meet academic goals: 1 hour per day, per course.
Instructional Materials: Students need a computer (Chromebooks provided by the district) and internet access (provided at school), as well as a
student Edgenuity account, provided by Edmonds eLearning when student enrolls.
Weekly Contact: Students will make weekly two-way contact with at least one certificated teacher via our face-to-face lab, office hours,
email/messages, telephone, virtual lab, or IM. If student does not meet this requirement, the teacher will meet with the student to discuss
strategies to help student understand and meet this requirement in the future. Student is required to come in for a “weekly contact intervention”
after 14 days of no direct contact.
Monthly Progress Evaluation: The school will send a progress evaluation via email to both the student and guardian each calendar month to
determine satisfactory or unsatisfactory overall progress in their courses. Monthly satisfactory progress is determined by whether or not students
are making adequate progress in their courses. The three criteria we use are that students are:
● keeping up with learning goals and progress expectation (students are “on track” in their classes), which is determined by the “Actual
Grade” in the Edgenuity progress report (this factors in the grades they have earned for assignments completed, as well as any “0” grades
for assignments they haven’t completed but should have by this point according to their assignment calendar),
● making weekly 2-way contact with a certificated teacher,
● logging in weekly to work on coursework.
Students who are not following these combined three standards will be marked as unsatisfactory on the evaluation and will require an
intervention, unless outside influences have been determined by a staff member at eLearning in conjunction with the student, and an individual
satisfactory/unsatisfactory plan has been set up, in which case it is provided below in the “Interventions Tracking” table.
Process if student receives unsatisfactory evaluation: The first unsatisfactory monthly progress evaluation report a student earns will include
strategies to help the student meet their goals and student will be required to select an intervention to help get them back on-track, with a follow-
up conversation (phone or in-person) with advisor or teacher to discuss strategies. If satisfactory progress is not made the next month, student will
be required to have an in-person intervention meeting to discuss further strategies that will help the student meet their academic goals with a
teacher and re-evaluate their intervention plan. If satisfactory progress is still not made for the third progress report, student and parent/guardian
will need to meet with the school social/emotional team for an intervention meeting and to determine next steps, discuss eLearning program
changes, discuss movement to a different district program/school, and revise the intervention plan as needed. Students who do not earn
satisfactory evaluations after this point will be withdrawn from eLearning and moved to another school/program.
