Welcoming Introductions

Korean Folk Dance - The Halla Huhm Korean Dance Studio was founded in 1950 by the late Halla
Huhm. Although Halla Huhm passed away in 1994, we continue to perpetuate the legacy of her choreog-
raphy as well as others who have assisted at the studio over the years.
Taiwanese Dance - All Star Dance Group will present two authentic Taiwanese and Chinese folk
dance numbers for you to get full flavors or Chinese culture. The children will perform the "Welcome
Dance", a traditional dance in the Amis tribe, the largest aboriginal tribe in Taiwan, followed by Qipao
Dance and the Taichi sword.
Wah Ngai Lion Dance - In 2005 wah ngai lion dance association was founded as a non profit organiza-
tion committed to keeping Chinese culture alive. Today we are performing a newer modern Acrobatic lion
dance performance.

Talking Points

Basic Information:

About Us: Royal Hawaiian Center offers 310,000 square feet of delight for Hawaii shoppers. With more
than 110 shops and restaurants, the Center is one of Waikiki’s largest shopping centers. Along the four-
tiered three buildings, you can purchase everything from fine designer apparel to fun-in-the-sun apparel,
from fine jewelry to costume jewelry and Hawaiian treasures, from fine dining in many restaurants to din-
ing on hot dogs and ice cream. There are boutiques, sporting-good stores, Hawaii’s top surf shops, jewel-
ry stores, craft shops and practically everything else conceivable — all in the very center of Waikiki.

Shop & Dining Parking Program: 10 levels of parking and more than 600 stalls. The parking garage
entrance is located up the ramp on the right side of Royal Hawaiian Avenue. Royal Hawaiian Center’s
parking validation program offers FREE validated parking for the first hour and $2 per each hour for the
next two hours. A minimum purchase of $10 is required for validation. Regular rates apply thereafter.

Lunar New Year Kick-Off (2/8th 5:00 - 6:30pm)

Royal Hawaiian Center ushers in the Year of the Dog with 18 days of Chinese, Korean and Taiwanese
entertainments and activities, in addition to, a special gift with purchase promotion from February 8th to
25th . The free festivities kick off on Thursday, February 8th in The Royal Grove with Taiwanese and Ko-
rean folk dancing at 5 p.m. followed by a special acrobatic lion dance performance by Wah Ngai Lion
Dance Association at 6 p.m.

Doraku (Dishes):

• Stuffed Mushrooms - Mushroom caps filled with crab, bacon, jalapenos, and topped with Alfredo
Sauce Browned to perfection.

• I “Lava” You Roll - Filled with Spicy Crab, Shrimp Tempura, and Avacado. Topped with Maguro,
Tempuro Crispies, Red Tobiko, Unagi Sauce and Lava Sauce

• Prime RIb - 8oz Prime Beef, Au Jus served on a bed of Red Rice Zucchini and Mushroom Sautee

Year of the Dog Instagram Contest (2/1-2/15th 10:00am - 10:00pm)

In celebration of Lunar New Year 2018, Royal Hawaiian Center will launch an Instagram Year of the Dog
contest. From February 1st - February 15th, dog lovers are encouraged to post a picture of their dog
dressed in Lunar New Year theme with the hashtag #RHCLunarDog to commemorate this canine

Lucky Lisee Gift with Purchase Promotion (2/8-2/25 10:00am - 10:00pm)

Royal Hawaiian Center will offer a special Gift with Purchase promotion from February 8th to February
25th. Inspired by the Chinese tradition of giving red money envelopes (lisee), shoppers who redeem $300
or more in same-day Royal Hawaiian Center store and restaurant receipts may choose a

Chinese Calligraphy Demonstration (2/13 & 2/2 2:00pm - 4:00pm)

Learn to write Chinese Calligraphy with specialist Ina Chang. This is a 30 minute event that will demon-
strate the proper way to write phrases in Chinese Calligraphy. Register online or to Helumoa Hale Guest
Services.

Lantern Making Lesson (2/16 3:00pm - 4:00pm)

Build your own Chinese Lantern made out of Lisee envelopes with the help of Miss Chinatown Hawaii.
Class will be held on February 16th at 3:00PM and are limited to the first 25 guests that register online or
to Helumoa Hale Guest Services.

Lunar New Year Day Festivities (2/16 4:30pm - 8:00pm)

Celebrate Lunar New Year at Royal Hawaiian Center on February 16th! Take photos of the vibrant red
lanterns in The Royal Grove, capture a photo with Miss Chinatown Hawaii and more!

Year of the Dog Parade (2/17 4:00pm - 6:00pm)

2018 is The Year of the Dog and we are celebrating this canine year with a special pet friendly event in
The Royal Grove.

Lunar New Year Finale (2/25 5:00pm - 6:00pm)

Join us for one more lion dance in The Royal Grove as we end our Lunar New Year festivities.
