February 13, 2018 To Whom It May Concern, This letter is to recommend Jason Stewart for a position as an elementary school teacher. Ihave had the pleasure of working with Mr. Stewart for the past two school years as both a substitute and student teacher. He is a driven, determined teacher who develops meaningful connections with the students. Mr. Stewart demonstrates a drive to be part of the teaching profession and school community, I first met Mr. Stewart during the 2016-2017 school year as he served as a rotating substitute teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary School. I was able to see the quick connection he made with the students and the positive attitude he had toward being in the classroom. Upon this observation, I added him to my list of requested substitute teachers and he quickly became my “go to” sub. During the school year, Mr. Stewart took on two extended assignments of three days each. During those assignments, he kept my classroom running just as if Ihad been there. He was able to deliver instruction and manage the classroom in an effective and efficient manner. Beginning the 2017-2018 school year, Mr. Stewart became the student teacher for my 5! grade class and contintied to demonstrate the drive and determination to develop as a teacher. Over the course of the eight weeks of this assignment, Mr. Stewart gradually took on more responsibility over the instruction and management of the classroom. Mr. Stewart participated as an active team member to help develop and implement instruction and assessments. He analyzed and interpreted assessment results in order to drive instruction and to provide intervention/ enrichment opportunities for learning, He established and maintained productive collaborative relationships with the students, parents and other team members. The best quality that Mr. Stewart possesses is his willingness to learn. He continually sought to improve as a teacher and apply his new learning in the classroom. Mr. Stewart has a wonderful rapport with others and was able to develop meaningful connections with the students, families and other staff at our school. His ability to connect with the students truly made for a productive learning environment. For these reasons, I highly recommend Jason Stewart for a position as an elementary teacher. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Cul — Cassie Parilla 714-686-2068 Cassie parilla@cnusd.k12.ca.us 5% Grade Teacher - Rosa Parks Elementary School
