He was francisco bolognesi, he was born in Arica,Peru(1816). He is famous for
participated in the pacific war and defended the square of Arica facing the chilean forces. When he was 35 years old, he joined the army during the threat of war between Peru and Bolivia. He specialized in artillery.He was promoted to colonel and soon participated in the campaign of Ecuador in (1859-1860). In 1868 he assumed as general commander of artillery. When the war of Chile against Peru and Bolivia broke out in (1879), he was already retired from service, but requested his reinstatement. On june 7 (1880), the final battle was fought, where, in bloody hand-to-hand combat, a bullet hit his heart while a rifle butt shattered his skull. The people consider him a hero for fighting for Peru until death and he is remembered for his phrase "I have sacred duties to fulfill and I will fulfill them until I burn the last cartridge".
