WHITE IT OUT

By: Cindi Tingzon

Saw on TV
a pretty face
too hard to look away

crowded place
saw an image on display
all eyes looked that way

Insecurity drowned her image

compared herself to a billboard model
It was probably photo enhanced

Looking in the mirror unsatisfied

feelings roared undignified
She looked in the mirror, unidentified

Fill me with happiness, she thought

Never content
Living in torment

Fix this horror

This is torture
Or is it a disorder?

Her reflection is an illusion

Which is the root of confusion
Feelings of exclusion

Times passes
Her image molded
Realizing beauty’s true image
