Caitlin Pinson

Writing Assignment #4

Subject: Dance Team Sponsorship

Message: Kountry Motors,

Good afternoon, this is Caitlin Pinson, I am a junior on the Eastern Kentucky

University and hoping to find sponsors to help me get me to nationals in Florida this year. This is very
important to me because I am actually a second semester junior and I will be graduating in the fall so
this is my last year competing for a national title. The past two years we have traveled to NDA nationals
and placed 2nd each year. We are dedicated and committed more than ever and your sponsorship would
mean everything to us. There are three different levels of sponsorship. Platinum sponsorships start at
$100+, Gold sponsorships start at $50, and Silver sponsorships start at $25. Now, the sponsorship isn’t
just for our benefit but yours as well. We will be producing two different sponsorships t-shirts that we
will be wearing at sporting events, university events and nationals. This is a great way of advertisement
for your company. We would love to have your support this year! Thank you so much for your time and
consideration. Contact me at 859-248-0497 for more information.

Sincerely,

Caitlin Pinson

Dear Jill Williams,

I have been working at Merle Norman for a year now and I have brought much revenue into the
company. I have completed all of my training in every aspect of the store including in Pandora, Vera
Bradley, Alex and Ani, Merle Norman and Spartina. I have dedicated a lot of time and effort into helping
making this store successful and feel I am deserving of a raise. I would not take this raise for granted. It
will really help me with school loans and fees.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

Sincerely,

Description:

The reason that I chose Jill Williams is because I currently work at Merle Norman and Jill is my boss. I
took this opportunity to try and find an effective yet professional way to ask for a raise. She is a small
business owner and very personal and a straight to the point kind of women. So, I didn’t add extra
words or anything into the business letter, I got straight to the point. I was trying to be polite but yet
push to get to the point.
