What were you trying to learn during the interview?
I was trying to learn about the academic writing disciplines within the Political Science major.

Sarah is a Senior in the Political Science Major, with a concentration in international relations. I
chose to interview her because she is an upperclassman and has been through enough of the major
that she can give me insight to the academic writing disciplines.

I learned that different concentration of the major requires different things. I learned that within the
international relations concentration writing a Case analysis is done frequently. A case analysis is
analysis of court case rulings.

I am a Political Science Major, with a concentration in international relations. I am also minoring in

Spanish, which is required

What are the majority of your classes like?

They are lectures and focus a lot on national security.

I write policy briefs, Case analysis, annotated bibliographies, timelines, and research papers.

What type of papers do you write the most frequently?

Case analysis

What is the design/ style/ format of this paper?

The case analysis are 7 to 10 pages long. They require a minimum of 10 sources. We use MLA format and the
5-paragraph system.
