SENIORS: All debts must be cleared by this Friday (5/4) for you to

avoid being placed on the debt list. You cannot participate in


graduation with a debt!! Check the FEES tab in your Infinite Campus
account if you are unsure of your debt status.

o **You will have to pay $45 if you do not return the charger**
 If you have any outstanding debt, you will not be able to participate in
graduation practice until it is paid. Check your IC.

Juniors/Sophomores
 All books should be returned to the media center by Fri, 5/11
 Juniors – Chromebook & charger due Mon, 5/14
 Sophomores – Chromebook & charger due Tues, 5/15
 If you have any outstanding debt, you will not be able to purchase a
parking permit until the debt is cleared. Check your IC.

Graduation Overview – Seniors have been given information. Students should


see Dr. Hughes or Dr. Collins if they did not receive a packet.

Any USAF JROTC senior who completed the JROTC Pathway may pick up their
completed pathway certificate from Major Candelario or Mrs. Hinson in the
JROTC office during lunch or after school.

Seniors: If you had Mrs. Garrick or Mrs. Hamby for 9th grade ELA and wrote a
letter to be opened your senior year, it's time to get those letters!! Mrs. Garrick
and Mrs. Hamby will be in the TCHS media center Wednesday afternoon (5/9/18)
immediately after school with your letters. Swing by and pick them up. Any
letters not picked up will be left with Mrs. Coleman, and you may get them from
her.

Recognition of student awards, scholarships, etc – We are proud of ALL of the accomplishments of our TCHS
students. Please understand, we can only recognize a student if we are aware of their
award/accomplishment! PLEASE have your student contact their guidance counselor if the student is the
recipient of any award or recognition.

Seniors – Walk the halls of your primary school alma mater while
wearing your cap and gown. Check the list below to see the
location, date and time. Remember to arrive early - the time listed is
the time the walk will start. The invitation from GOB is extended to all
seniors even if that was not the school you attended.

before 9:45 because they will be a part of the 3rd grade graduation

STUDENTS: REMEMBER TO CHARGE YOUR CHROMEBOOK


EVERY NIGHT AND HAVE IT WITH YOU AT SCHOOL EVERY
DAY!! All students will be using Chromebooks for EOC
testing.

Are you interested in STEM or Mechatronics? There are some summer intensive
camps just for you! Both courses offered will be held at Southern Regional
Technical College.
 SeaPerch Underwater Robotics: A program that teaches basic science
and engineering concepts, tool safety, technical applications, problem
solving, and team work. Dates: July 9th – 12th. Time: 9 AM – 3 PM. Cost:
$150. Open to 7th – 12th graders
 (STEM) Drone Academy: A 4-day workshop that will teach students how to
pilot state of the art drones. They will learn and practice indoor flights
using their very own drone. The drone will be theirs to take home at the
end of camp. Dates: June 11th – 14th. Time: 8:30 AM – Noon. Cost: $150.

Student Deadline Calendar – A calendar has been created for your
convenience. To add this to your Google Calendar app, you will find the
invitation located in your tiftschools email; click on the link for access
Yearbooks – ONLY 10 available for purchase – 1st come, 1st served. Yearbooks will
be distributed the 2nd week in May

Are you in search of a summer job? Are you good at manual labor and can lift
heavy objects? If so, then Tift Schools is looking to hire 22 students to move
furniture and boxes during the school realignment. Applications can be picked
up in the main office with Mrs. Ledlow. Please be aware that application
requires two recommendations.

Fri, 5/4 – Registration Deadline for 6/9 ACT test date.

Tues, 5/8 – Georgia Future Educators Signing Day – in the TCHS media center at
3:30. Guest speaker: Mrs. Gwen Deselle, PAGE Representative and our very
own Mike Beeman. Please come join us as we recognize these seniors who are
committing to a future in the field of education.

Fri, 5/18 - Youth Empowerment Series is seeking rising high school students, grades 9-12,
for a yearlong interactive series that seeks to develop a generation of young people who
are engaged in the needs of their community. For more information, please contact
yes@dhs.ga.gov. Download the application at dhs.georgia.gov/apply-yes. Application due
date is May 18.

Club News:

Mon, 5/7 - FFA: Join FFA as they host their annual scavenger hunt on Monday,
5/7. If you wish to participate, please meet at the Canning Plant at 4 PM. All
scavenger activities will cease by 6:30 PM. FFA will then feed all involved a nice
hamburger dinner while we reminisce about the fun ya’ll just had.

Volleyball - Tryouts will be May 7-10. The first day of open gym at
TCHS begins Monday, 4/16, 3:45-5:30 to practice for the upcoming
tryouts. Anyone interested in trying out can pick up a Tryout Packet
from the Athletic Office or from Mrs. Dawson in the TCHS front office.
You must have a current physical on file to participate in open gym. Contact
Coach Caleb Dawson (caleb.dawson@tiftschools.com) for any additional info.

Track athletes not going to State – Athletes should turn in all issued uniforms and
gear to Coach Beeman ASAP!! If items are not turned in, your name will be
added to the debt list.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following TCHS athletes placing at the Sectional


competition on Sat, 4/28. This is the most we have going to State in years. What
an accomplishment for these student athletes!
