Welcome

Congratulations that you have decided for the control software PILOT ROASTER SHOP!
With it you receive an innovative control software which was particularly developed for PROBATONE roasters of series 2.
It offers new and comfortable possibilities to better adapt the roasting to your requirements. Furthermore, the process and the quality are more easily reproducible.
By means of PILOT ROASTER SHOP you are now able to see all roasting parameters at a glance, to manage a large number of recipes and to directly archive a roasting
process via the recording mode. Moreover, comparisons between individual roasting profiles can be done or roasts can be started automatically.

The software is completed by an individual configuration possibility of surface and language.

We wish you much joy and above all good roasting results with your new software.
On the following pages, we will give you a detailed survey of the functioning of the programme.
We recommend reading the following pages carefully in order to optimally benefit from your new software.

On the tab “Roasting“, you have access to the following parameters:

 Temperature unit
Select between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

 Roasting time, ascending or descending

Here you can determine, if the roasting time should ascend or should
descend from the roasting end time of the selected roasting profile.

 Roasting according to temperature

In automatic mode, the burner is only adapted when achieving the
respective nominal temperature (blue graph). If a tick was not made, the
burner is controlled according to current definition (nominal burner value,
pink line) at the respective point of time.

 Burner reduction after end of recipe

Automatically shuts down the roaster after the end of roasting to 0%.

 TDI scale
TDI=temperature development indicator
Changes the maximal value of the TDI axis (green) in the roasting curve
display with the selected factor.
(change of scaling, curve gets higher or flatter).

 TDI range
Changes the number of measuring points that are interpolated via the
TDI. Higher values generate a smoother TDI curve.

“Type of roasting” determines if the roasting should be done according to

time or according to temperature.

Temperature: The actual product temperature on the thermocouple is

taken as orientation in order to control the roasting process. A control
step is only introduced in automatic mode when the pre-set temperature
is achieved. It also strongly depends on the product condition. This
adjustment compensates external influences more strongly than the
roasting according to time.

Time: Here, the recipe parameters are strictly started according to time
indications irrespective of the achieved temperature.

Explanations concerning the roasting graph

Temperature Development Indicator (green scale far left)

The TDI serves to illustrate the temperature modification. It shows how strong the
temperature varies during the time. Previous actual values are taken for the
interpolation of the curve in the future.

Particularly at the end of the roasting when the temperature differences get smaller,
a possible deviation from the nominal value can already be recognised approx. one
minute earlier by the TDI in order to counteract accordingly.
