Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (January 27, 1832- January
1898), better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was British author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergy and photographer. His facility at word play, logic, and fa has delighted audiences ranging from the most naive to t sophisticated. His works have remained popular since th published and have influenced not only children's literat also a number of major 20th century writers such as Jam Joyce and Jorge Luis Borges. At age 20 he received a studentship at Christ Church and was appointed a lecture mathematics. Dodgson was shy but enjoyed creating sto children. His books including "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" were published under the pen name Lewis Dodgson died in 1898.
