Learning to Love Yourself e-Learning Training Program Design Document


Scope: Training Session Focus
 Training Goals
o Research has shown that 80% of a person’s daily thoughts are negative
and 95% of them are repetitive. A whopping 97% of women hate
something about their bodies, having at least one negative thought for
every waking hour. There are an infinite number of ways for people to love
and care for themselves. One way is to act as if you already do, a “fake it
‘til you make it” approach. This e-learning training will provide participants
with vital tools to counteract negative self-thoughts and begin the practice
of self-compassion.

 Audience
o The intended audience of this e-learning training program:
 Members of the Albuquerque Center for Self-Compassion’s
“Learning to Love Yourself” Support Group who suffer from
negative self-thoughts and lack self-compassion and self-love

Delivery
 Content Description
o This e-learning training module will give participants an introduction into
cultivating some of the skills needed to practice self-love in everyday life
including nourishing your body, moving your body, using positive
affirmations to override negative thinking, and the positive effects of touch
and smell.
o At the end of the training, participants will be given an opportunity to sign
up for the full 8-week training program, Mindful Self-Love.

 Method/Platform
o The method of delivery for this e-learning training will utilize constructivist
and cognitive learning theories. Constructivist learning will allow the
participant to create their own subjective representation of objective reality
and build on their own personal experience. Cognitive learning will allow
the participant to go beyond external learning by changing their mental
processes to allow a new way of thinking to be stored in long-term
memory.
o The platform of this e-learning training will be created and delivered via
Microsoft PowerPoint software and will include interactive slides, audio,
and video.

 Training Time Estimates


o The e-learning training session is expected to take approximately 20
minutes to complete.

o Upon completion of this e-Learning training program, participants will be
able to:
 Identify negative self-thoughts
 Begin practicing positive self-thoughts through healthy eating
 Begin practicing positive self-thoughts through healthy movement
 Understand how to create and use positive affirmations
 Begin using the sense of touch to generate positive thoughts
 Begin using the sense of smell to generate positive thoughts
 Understand they may continue building on this training via the full
Mindful Self-Love 8-week Program
