Warm Up
• Poison rhythm game with ball -- quick refresh and review
• Add xylophone element:
◦ Students need to improvise rhythm and pitch
◦ They can choose what key to play on. If advanced, make certain pitches "poison."
Core
• Salamanca Market
◦ We will speak the song to learn the pitches and rhythms. We will work to identify the types of notes in the song: sixteenth and
eighth notes.
◦ We will add motions to the song.
◦ Once we are comfortable we will work on singing the song in canon.
• Really Going Crazy
◦ We will work on learning the pitches and the rhythms for the song.
◦ Once we are comfortable, we will try to sing the song at different speeds.
◦ The different speeds will be related to the different values of each note.
◦ We will try to sing the different parts.
◦ We will also add different motions to go on each count.
Closure
• Floor Staff
◦ We will review solfege with the floor staff game.
