Arts and Crafts Project:

Objectives

- relate the use of directions to construct concepts in previous discussions about earthquakes and
faults, understanding typhoons and comets, asteroids and meteors.

- respond positively and openly to generate unique ideas in making the project from constructed
concepts in the previous discussions about earthquakes and faults, understanding typhoons and
comets, asteroids and meteors.

- practice the students as leaders to assign other students as members to follow instruction and
procedures in making the project.

Steps in making a Christmas parol using recycled papers:

1. Fold detached piece of paper from a brochure into strips (1 inch for the length).

2. Staple folded Paper on both sides and in the middle to secure

3. Fold strips into the middle creating a tiny whole with two strips overlapping each other then staple it
to secure

4. Prepare to dilute poster paint in a separate container with water to determine correct consistency to
paint folded papers then let it dry for few minutes

5. After drying, staple five parts into whole starting to create a flower like shape then staple other parts
extending the flower shape to form a star shape and create another set of star.

6. Combine two sets to create a Christmas parol using a stapler to secure.

7. Caution: Be careful in using the glue gun (Hot Surface) or a candle in burning the stick glue.) Melt the
glue stick using the glue gun or candle flame to adhere the 2-4 inches of the leaf vein from coconut
leaf (walis tingting) on both stars to create rigidity and sturdy on the Christmas parol)

8. optional : put other designs or extensions to the constructed parol
