Academics in West Bengal – where does oyr money go – who works here – where do
we get our rice from – fish from – where are our people – we have to build a whole
infrastructure of understanding this. Our universities must help us understand this,
because we are investing in it and our next generation will be built from it. We don’t
even know what we don’t own our coal, airport, rivers, ports and many such things.
Our children must be told the truth. We cannot lie to them about their state of
slavery. We can only hope that they reclaim their rights – in that way, we can make
amends of the surrender by our elders.
