Areas of Strengths: Amina has a natural, calm, caring demeanor around students. The
students instinctively gravitate towards her, and her genuine care for them is evident. She is
clear in her instruction of directions, and excellent at 360-degree teaching where she
consistently weaves throughout the students she is instructing. She has a good awareness of
age- and academically-appropriate activities to teach lessons for understanding.

Areas of Improvement: Ms. Amina prepared her lesson resources the day of the lesson during
the Literacy block. A classroom teacher would not be afforded this luxury. Materials and
lessons should be prepared, and tested in advance. It would also be helpful for her to have
provided written feedback on the students’ work when she gave it to me, because in the
absence of that, I was limited in my ability to assess her critical reflection.
