Without doubt, regular everyday actions are placing our planet near its breaking point, since

they put a strain on the environment beyond what it is designed to support. As news about
natural disasters are becoming more and more frequent, we must be prepared to change our
lifestyle if we want to ensure our own survival.

Over the last centuries, human activities have released large amounts of carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere. By burning fossil fuels and destroying entire forests we have dramatically increase
the amount of greenhouse gases and temperatures are rising. As a result, the polar ice caps are
melting extremely fast and the sea level is increasing. Besides that, extreme weather events such
as wildfires, droughts, hurricanes and storms will occur more often due to global warming.

At the same time, natural resources are running out very quickly, since we are consuming faster
than the world can replenish. Furthermore, we must be concerned about the agressive fishing
and hunting, the use of pesticides and the release of methane to the atmosphere if we want to
protect our world. That way, I’m ready to recycle and reuse more, go on foot to school more
often and buy less products with toxic chemicals.

To sum up, human activities hurt the environment in more ways than we can possibly imagine.
However, I´m convinced that people are getting more concerned about the effect of their
actions on our planet.
